About UTGST, A& N: Unlike in other Sates in india, there was no Sales Tax or VAT in the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. • With a view to implement GST in the Union Territory, the department of Union Territory Goods & Services Tax was created in May, 2017.
  • The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, was appointed as the Commissioner of UTGST, for whole of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
